The film has fell flat in its third week at worldwide box office and raked in very poor figures. But one can’t blame anything rather than the new releases Kai Po Che and Zilla Ghaziabad for its third week box office fate.

In February 2013 we saw the face of the Bollywood changing as the movies starring new comers and the films made on a slim budget rode high at box office. Today the films which have a fresh, different and great content are doing wonders at the box office. It’s not the time where only the movies featuring superstars will do fair at the box office, the box office success of film also lies in its content.

When Special Chabbis released on 08^th February, it hit the theaters with Prabhdeva starrer ABCD. Not only Special 26 did a rocking business but ABCD also claimed hit status. Both the films fetched Rs75+ crores in first week at the box office with a combined effort.

Going on to the second week Special 26 and ABCD stayed rock steady and collected Rs18 cr and Rs13 cr respectively even in the presence of much hyped Vishesh Bhatt’s ‘Murder 3’ and Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story. Although Murder 3 topped the weekend box office chart but special 26 challenged it to the core.

Well, if not wasn’t for the release of Kai Po Che, Special 26 could have performed way better in its third week too. But as Special 26 had a multiplex oriented target audience, and so did Kai Po Che therefore the latter overshadowed the former.

Special 26 lost most of its screen space to the new releases and the film had reduced number of shows playing in the theaters. The film dropped big time following its 3^rd week and failed to score decent numbers.

The 3^rd week collections of Special 26 were way over estimated as we reported earlier and the actual are proving to be disappointing. The film has lost its grip at the domestic box office as the regular movie goers looked for some fresh entertainment.

The film has failed to meet the success criteria of Akshay Kumar’s 2012 hit ‘Oh My God’ which was steady in its 3rd weekend and it seems that the film will be lagging behind over its lifetime business too.

So, Special Chabbis (26) box office collections till date (Rs75+ cr) has reached decent status but it’s not what was expected and the total collections are way lower what trade experts  predicted for an Akshay starrer.

Surely Kai Po Che has topped this week box office charts at domestic as well as at overseas box office too while Zilla Ghzaiabad has failed to fetch good numbers despite its huge star cast and big budget.
